Chatter detection pauses during the click speed test, since deliberate fast clicking can legitimately break the 50ms threshold.

What fails on this model

The Logitech G Pro X Superlight uses Omron (reported as D2FC-F-7N) switches. These are mechanical, so the contacts inside wear with use. As they do, the bounce that happens every time the contacts meet lasts longer and eventually it lasts long enough that the mouse reports a second click you didn’t make.

This model was released in 2020, which makes a typical unit around 6 years old. Chatter usually appears somewhere between two and four years of regular use, earlier if you game heavily.

Known issues with the Logitech G Pro X Superlight

Left button double clicking after heavy use

The original Superlight uses mechanical Omron switches under the main buttons. Owners regularly report the left button starting to double click after a year or more of heavy gaming, which is the classic contact bounce failure. Double clicking tops the list of owner questions on iFixit’s page for this model.

Scroll wheel skipping or not registering

The wheel uses a mechanical encoder on its own small board. Dust and wear make it skip steps or scroll briefly in the wrong direction. iFixit publishes replacement guides for both the scroll wheel and the scroll wheel board on this model, so it is a known repair rather than a mystery.

Wireless dropouts that look like missed clicks

The Lightspeed receiver works best close to the mouse. A receiver plugged into the back of a desktop PC, especially next to a USB 3 device, can drop packets and a dropped packet can swallow a click. Use the extension adapter that came in the box to bring the receiver onto the desk before blaming the switch.

How to fix it

Click the left button steadily in the test above. If it flags repeats under 50ms, the switch is bouncing. Move the receiver onto the desk with its extension adapter and test again to rule out wireless dropouts. If the flags continue, claim the warranty while it lasts. Out of warranty the fix is replacing the main switches, which means peeling the PTFE feet to reach the screws and desoldering the old switches. Buy a spare set of feet before you start since the originals rarely stick well a second time.

Warranty

Logitech G mice are typically sold with a two year limited hardware warranty in the US. Worn switch chatter inside that period is a defect worth claiming. Logitech doesn’t publish a rated click count for this model, so there is no lifetime figure it can point to.

Logitech G Pro X Superlight questions

Does the G Pro X Superlight use optical switches?

No. The original Superlight from 2020 uses mechanical Omron switches, which can develop double click chatter as their contacts wear. The Superlight 2 moved to Logitech’s LIGHTFORCE hybrid optical and mechanical switches, so advice for one model doesn’t carry over to the other.

How do I tell a Superlight from a Superlight 2?

The Superlight 2 has a USB-C charging port while the original uses micro USB. If your mouse charges over micro USB it is the original model this page covers, with mechanical switches that can chatter.

Can I replace the switches in a Superlight myself?

Yes, if you can desolder a three pin part. The screws sit under the PTFE feet, so opening the mouse damages them and you will want replacement feet. Many owners fit Omron switches with a higher click rating while they are in there.

Can this page test every button on the Superlight?

Yes. The Superlight has exactly five buttons: left, right, wheel click and two thumb buttons. All five use the standard button numbers browsers understand, so every one of them shows up in the test above.

Why does my Superlight double click only on some days?

Early chatter is intermittent because it depends on exactly how the worn contacts meet. It often appears in bursts and then disappears for days. Run the test several times over a week to catch it before it becomes constant.

Note that a browser can only see the five standard mouse buttons. Extra buttons on models with more of them send keyboard shortcuts or are handled inside the manufacturer software, so they can’t be tested from a web page.
